JavaScript Practice Classes in JavaScript Practicing Classes Practice Adding Methods

Creating a method within a JavaScript class

Hello Treehouse,

I'm having some trouble with building this method. I'm a beginner when it comes to finding the right documentation and as such have been struggling with finding material that will be a good model for building this method.

Does anyone know of a good source for building methods within classes and/or a solution to the exercise?

User.js
class User {
    constructor(email, username, birthday) {
        this.email = email;
        this.username = username;
        this.birthday = birthday;
    }
    changeUsername(username) {
      // user1.username += 'Bob';
    }
}

var user1 = new User('JavaScriptStudent@teamtreehouse.com', 'JSUser1', '1/08/1991');

Swing and a hit; I changed the code to the following:

changeUsername(username) { this.username = username; }

and it worked. Can anyone explain why I didn't need to bind username to a string?
