WordPress How to Build a WordPress Blog Without Coding Posts and Pages in WordPress Editing Pages on a WordPress Blog

Creating pages

I realize the video tutorial says it wont go into menus at this stage. But the it does suggest when I create a new page the title of that page becomes a button at the front end. But no such thing happens on my site. http://www.concentricdesigns.biz/about-me/

Hello, You need to go to Appearance > Menu. From there under the pages area you will see a list of the pages you have created and some that you have not. Check the boxes of the one s that you would like to have appear in your menu, then press add to menu. Now in the righthand side you will see a Menu Structure area, here you can rearrange the pages that you have added to your menu, simply drag and drop to rearrange. below that you will see to Menu Settings. Here if you select "Auto add pages" any new page you create will be add as the first item on your menu, but you will have to return to the Appearance > Menu page to arrange to where you want it. below that there is "Theme locations" make sure this box is checked. Once you are happy with the arrangement press Save Menu. Then if you return to the front end of your web site you should see your menu.

Hello Liam, sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Please ask what you wuold like to know and I will do my best to answer them. I think the main issue here might be the order of the video tutorials. Another words the solutions could be found in the later lessons which I am going to get into now.

Liam, I only have one page (titled about me) and intend to keep it that way. My question has been about catagories and tags. I have created a number of catagories added content into them, a number of tags added content. Indeed, the catagory names and tags show up at the front end. But when I try to select a catagory nothing can be found. I hope that clarifies the problem. You can see for yourselves on

Hello Sterling, I have outlined the problem in previous posts. But I will go over it again. When I create catagories and tags those the catagory and tag names become visible on the front end. But I cannot see the content. For example, I have a catagory called "food types". It is displayed as a drop down using the "decode" threme. When click on the drop down there are no options. This is despite the fact that I have created content. There is also a tag called "food item". These consist of watermelon, Turian, pinapple. While the tag "food item" shows at the front end. I cannot see the indivical tags, watermelon, Turian etc..

I hope I have aequately clarifified it for you.

Which theme you have chosen determines which things show up on your site when looking at the real site, not the dashboard. This is why when he types a category, it shows up on the real page, however not all themes display this. In regards to your previous question, you need to use the menus functionality to get new pages to show up on the front end I believe is what you are asking. (add a main navigation element to your site.)
