Java Java Objects (Retired) Harnessing the Power of Objects Helper Methods

Creating the helper method to determine if the battery is fully charged.

Now create a helper method named isFullyCharged. It should return true if the GoKart is at max capacity.

I think I'm getting confused with the 'not' operator. The max capacity is declared when MAX_BARS == 8 so I want the boolean method to return true when this is the case but I'm under the impression that we should be using the 'not' operator here. If the value is NOT 8 then it's not full so shouldn't return the true value.

Not sure how to write the "If" statement - can someone help?

GoKart.java
public class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String mColor;
  private int mBarsCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    mColor = color;
    mBarsCount = 0;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return mColor;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return mBarsCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
   if (!mBarsCount==0);
  }

  public void charge() {
    mBarsCount = MAX_BARS;
  }
}

no need of ! or if statement. You have to check whether the battery is fully charged. It will be fully charged if the bars equal to 8. if not the battery is not fully charged.

last part public boolean isFullyCharged() { if (!mBarsCount==8);

it should be 8 not o

needs to be a conditional with if and else.

public boolean isFullyCharged(){ if (mBarsCount != MAX_BARS){ return false; }else{ return true; }

} i think it is.
