Creative design

I am currently building a webpage for a friend, and one of the pages requires a lot of text- I have tried to make it look as nice as possible, but it still looks, for lack of a better word, ugly. Can anyone give some creative tips on how to spruce up this page?

I usually like to get some inspiration depending on the project. You can go on Behance, Pinterest or Inspiration Websites such as Awwwards or SiteInspire.

You can filter by type, color, design or layout.

It would be a great place to start.

Thanks, I will check it out!

There's some useful typography design theory in the Web Typography course, which I'd recommend going through when you have the time.

It's a beginner course, so it starts off slow as it covers the very basics, which you may want to skip, but it then covers a couple of exercises of designing single-page websites full of text and making them look good.

Some other inspiration, to expand on Simon's post, would be some established sites that are nearly text-only, such as Medium and CSS Zen Garden.

Good luck!
