iOS

Crystall Ball and objective c as well as other things learning

Hello,

Im going throw the course on iOS of crystal ball and i don't have a clue on some things what they are but i really like how Amit teaches and i understand him very well, and I'm getting slowly to understand the code .

I personaly didn't like the basics course . I don't know why i just didn't like it and didn't understand much .

Since I'm going throw with Amit throw crystal ball , is it ok to just go throw it all like that ? will everything come along itself? so if theres something i don't know why , if i finish the course ill get more idea of it right? and lets say if i watch how to make 10 apps on yt + 5 here, i will get the code slowly to my head and how it works? by apps i mean more of flappy bird type game or later on weather apps etc.. if thats any difference.

Hey Aurelian,

I was struggling aswell when I first started doing iOS tutorials. I actually started with the book iOS 7 Application Development in 24 Hours, Sams Teach Yourself (5th Edition) . About half way through the book, I was completely lost and had very little understanding of what was happening.

The approach I took was to step back abit, and learned objective C first. I did complete the Treehouse Objective C tutorials, and although they were good and well taught, I still didnt have a complete understanding of Objective C. What did help was going through an Objective C book, specifically I did Objective-C Programming: The Big Nerd Ranch Guide (2nd Edition) .

After learning Objective C, the Treehouse tutorials became so much more clearer than they did before, and I feel that I am learning alot more from them than I otherwise would be.

If you're not familiar with Objective C, I highly recommend starting there first then coming back to iOS development

Happy learning!

P.s. I didnt go back to the iOS book, I find the Treehouse tutorials are really good to go through

thank you , i will see how it will go. The think is that its pretty hard to understand how it works , its a bit complex. Ill see these bocks, i have a book about C so ill see about it and ill check out ones that you pointed out . Thank you

No problem. Any good Objective C tutorials will get you a good enough understanding, even online tutorials. I mentioned the book as that was the method I chose to learn

I will go throw the meanings like -(void) what means _someName etc.. so I know what they do and then I will make like quite a lot of apps from youtube turorail and I will try to figure out , I will figure it out and that way I hope I can learn too in a good standard. If I didn't had college I would sit at home and learn it all day :p

My drive is too high :p I want to learn it soo much . My eyes are red as spending like 6h on pc trying to get it to the head but its slow process and even more I have an idea , fearly complex , hoping is possibile for me in like up to 6 months : p

It does take time but its absolutely worth it. I'm not an expert, but am ok. I started back in April, generally I do 1 - 2 hours in the evening after work every day. Definitely keep going, and as you mentioned understanding things like -(void) I would recommend you start on the objective C and it will all make so much sense.

Trust me that in a few months with the determination you have you will be doing great!

My goal is to understand or to even write a little code for some simple game 2D or weather app like on , before one day to 2015 if that's possibile , or at least feel it .

bdw I need to paste it here since im at college and I don't have a way to save it and ill have to go so I paste the link here and then I read it at home. I don't have any other way to sav ethe link http://blog.teamtreehouse.com/the-beginners-guide-to-objective-c-language-and-variables

oh well its treehouse :D

Thank you for the "Trust me that in a few months with the determination you have you will be doing great!" not sure how to say it in English , like push up not sure : p
