Dealing with the fact you must initialize and name a fragment for new projects on newer versions of ADT (Android Blog Reader Project, October 2013 & Beyond)

This weekend I've decided to explore uncharted territory when it comes to mobile development: Android Development.

However, the new project settings for the versions of ADT/Android Studio have changed such that it requires you to specify a fragment with new projects, even if you uncheck 'fragments' in the support mode box that shows itself if you specify the same minimum required SDK, Target SDK, and Compile with options Ben Jakuben used throughout the Rebuilding from Scratch stage of the Android Blog Reader Project.

Any thoughts on adjusting to these new nuances of ADT/Android Studio?

Note: I'm using Android Studio.

I have noticed this in Android Studio. It's actually a bit frustrating if you don't want to use fragments. I'm not sure how I want to tackle this, but I do plan on refreshing the existing Android content as soon as I can. Perhaps some notes along the way would be a decent workaround.

Ben Jakuben: I see, feel free to keep me posted on the notes you accumulate regarding this on this thread.

I recorded a workshop on Android Studio that will hopefully help with some of these pain points. It should be available in the next week or two, and I'll link to it in the notes. Cheers!

Thanks for the update. I can't wait to watch the workshop.
