Developing Games on Android & iOS

Hi all, I am predominantly interested in Developing Games. I enrolled in Treehouse to gain an overall knowledge of the various tracks tree house has to offer. Ultimately, at the end of learning the various tracks I would like to then pursue developing mobile games. I do not have a background in coding and will be looking into learning Java after doing the treehouse tracks.

If I wanted to Develop Games for mobile phones ie android & iOS, are there resources you can refer me to? I've done some of the Android track and its nice to know the basics of Android Studio but I think ultimately, it might not be heading towards the direction of game developing.

So far I've seen mention of Unity3D, Stencyl and YoYo Games. If you have inputs or could point me out in the right direction for which language and path I should take that'd be great.

Cheers, Mac.

Hi,

Not sure if you would be interested in this but as a supplement to the android tracks here on treehouse which are great for app development but like you say don't currently have anything on android game development I have signed up the course on the link below.

https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/begin-programming-autumn-2014

It's a free short course run by a university here in the UK. Hopefully it will give a bit more of an insight into game dev, but I would recommend sticking with the track here on treehouse as well. There is an android SQL course coming up soon that i'm sure would apply to game dev as well

Hope this is of some help

Daniel
