i just wanted to know should we go for MAC instead of Windows systems

Sure, I don't see how that's a bad thing, Mac can do everything Windows can, and then some. If some of your employees happen to hate Mac, they can easily install a Windows at dual-boot setup, problem solved.

But I think your original question is whether Mac is more superior at Android Development than WIndows, right? My answer is still, nope, Mac doesn't have an edge over Windows when it comes to writing Android app.

Mac shines in the following areas:

  • Some Mac-exclusive programs can be very nice tools for developers.
  • Mac has a full-fledged UNIX environment, Windows doesn't.
  • Xcode, the tool for writing iOS app, is for Mac-only.

thank you so much William.....thanks for your time

No, Windows is just as good as a Mac when it comes to Android Development.

but even to start Android Studio it takes a lot of time.....and if i launch the emulator it takes 15 to 20 mins

First of all, Android Studio isn't a lightweight program, it's reasonable to expect some performance lagging here and there. However,

launch the emulator it takes 15 to 20 mins

This is definitely not normal.

It sounds to me that you're able to run the program fine, only the performance is very bad. This is most likely a hardware problem, how's your hardware spec?

i have intel i5,4GB RAM, 500 GB Disk Space........so you r suggesting me not to shift to MAC....beacuse i was highly considering it

You hardware seems okay, it meets the recommended requirement for running Android Studio.

But have you installed accelerated emulator with Intel VT? It's an optional install, it'll speed up the emulator significantly.

Check out this StackOverflow page for installation instruction of Intel VT.

i use genymotion currently....my organization is making a decision of getting MAC for the developers....so I just wanted to know will it be a plus point....and should the organisation go ahead with the decision

i just wanted to know should we go for MAC instead of Windows systems
