28,407 PointsIt's unfortunate that the challenge was passing for you. You are not supposed to do the math yourself. You are supposed to use the variables they provided you to programmatically calculate the salesTotal
, profit
, and profitPerUnit
:
var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;
var profit = salesTotal - wholesalePrice * quantity;
var profitPerUnit = profit / quantity;

16,529 PointsHow did you calculate profitPerUnit = 4.54? I think you must calculate it by division.
var quantity = 47;
var profit = 213.38;
var profitPerUnit = profit / quantity ;

3,878 PointsWhen we Divide, we cannot mix "Values with numbers? like this: var profitPerUnit = (profit) / 4.25 ;
Matthew Long
28,407 PointsSure. You can. But itβs unadvised. In your example, many would refer to 4.25 as a magic number. Someone reading the code in the future doesnβt have much to go on as to where 4.25 came from.
