Difference between :focus and :active?

What is the difference between :focus and :active pseudo classes?

1 Answer

The :active selector, only works when a link is being clicked; it's usually used with <a> tags. The focus selector is used for forms and applys styles when a form is in focus.

Here's something I did on codepen with the :focus element. Check out css-tricks too.
