Difference between input("> ") and input(" ")?

Why use this symbol (>) inside command input? I've tried without it and it does the same..

Thanks a lot

Whatever is put in the quotes is shown to the user as a prompt. The ">" is just an indicator that the programmer has chosen to prompt the user to type something.

">" could be replaced with "What is your name?", or "" if you don't want to print anything to the console.
