Do I have to download swift on my computer and is the program costly?

Hi there,

Swift is free and can be accessed online on sites such as this or this. There is a distinction to be made between Swift itself and the iOS libraries, I think. i don't know if you can easily access the iOS libraries on an emulator or if this requires Xcode, which will only install on an Apple machine like a Mac or MacBook. It may be possible to emulate the OSX environment on a non-Apple machine.

For the courses on Treehouse, however, I think you can use Workspaces throughout so there's no need to have Swift installed on your machine.
