Do you find JavaScript has a less steep learning curve than PHP?

Just done the first part of the JavaScript course and finding it very easy to understand. I know PHP is completely different but does anyone find that JavaScript has a less steep learning curve? Just thought I'd ask because I was overwhelmed learning PHP

Nicholas, I've just started learning PHP alongside of JavaScript. I've found that learning both has helped me understand both languages better as well as programming as a whole.

It's been a while since I learned both, but I remember feeling that Javascript had a less steep learning curve because, as a client-side language, it's often easier to see the impact of the code you're working with because it's available right there in the browser, unlike a server-side language which is processed by a server and, as you're learning it, the "behind-the-scenes" compilation may feel a little bit like magic :)

You should keep at it though, because it's very rewarding once it all kind of clicks!

I will admit that for me, when being taught javascript I had a harder time. Then again something about PHP just resonates with me.

JS is easier for me than PHP....it is difficult at times but I have more "Ah ha!" moments with JS than PHP.
