Does anybody else feels that this video is very confusing and badly taught or is it just me?

Not just this video, but all videos from the course 'Interactive web pages with javascript'.

I think you may be taking the incorrect approach on this class.
Unlike the earlier theory classes where syntax was broken down into easy to understand pieces, this class is follow-along tutorial style. You have to trust your brain to do some work subconsciously, despite any confusion you may feel. Use the documentation extensively to lookup anything new or strange. Type in everything exactly and play around with it, change things, break things and fix them. Explore the code you are given and you will understand it in time. Sometimes with learning abstract concepts, only repeated exposure will break your brain into fluency.
