Does anyone use flashcards to learn?

Any links to flashcards you use? I'm having difficulty retaining information. I understand the concept of the lesson, then move on. However when I go back to review what I learned in the past, I keep forgetting what I have learned.

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

I'm working on the Front End Designer track.

Virtual flashcards might be a nice practice programming project!

I don't use flashcards myself, but I'll share some techniques/tools I use to help retain course information:

  • I'll quickly code something of my own on CodePen using techniques I've just learned. Sometimes it may only be a small snippet/a few lines of code, but it comes in useful to reference later on and is quicker than going back through the course to look for a particular section that's been forgotten.

  • I'll answer questions on here. Particularly during my time going through the SQL courses here, I found it a big help for myself to go through and provide guidance to those who had genuinely tried and failed to solve a problem. Trying to work out what they've misunderstood and providing my own perspective really helped things to sink in.

  • Recently I've started using a free mobile app Enki during downtime to brush up on concepts I've learned, or some that may have not been covered on a treehouse course. Some of the games are a lot of fun, and they help you learn in the process. It's great if you have a spare 5-10 minutes while only having your phone with you.
