Does learning ruby first give you bad fundamentals for learning future programing languages.

I am going to study computer science next year, and i'm feeling very motivated to start coding again. I started playing around with C# a few years back but gave up when i hit a brick wall with OOP and haven't been doing much programing since. I was looking for a language and I really liked ruby because there are a lot of courses and other learning material online. So my question is if i decide to learn Ruby/Rails first will I have a lot of problems in the future moving to other languages like Java or C#. Thank you for your respone.

Personally ruby made OOP so much easier and understandable for me as i tried to understand OOP in java but i just could't understand anything so after i learned ruby almost every thing started to make sense in java, So yes ruby will actually give you a good into to programming and OOP and it might make things easier for you in the future when you decide to learn other languages.

It will only help you. OOP concepts will remain the same from language to language. Syntax differences will be your hangup, but nothing that can't be overcome.
