Does the Fragment Have to Extend 'PreferenceFragment'?

When creating a fragment that allows you to edit your preference setting, does the fragment have to extend 'PreferenceFragment' in order to work? In my case, I have a fragment that allows the user to change a setting, but I set it up like any other fragment. Is it okay to set a fragment up like you usually would for the purpose of using it as a settings fragment?

Nope, you can use your own Fragment. There's no real requirement to use PreferenceFragment. PreferenceFragment just lets you define settings in XML files and lay them out automatically as a list.

Phew, thanks!
