Don't forget to leave a review after the quizzes about the low quality of this course.

I am sorry for posting this in the questions forum, but this course is just really bad. It's way too fast. It doesn't introduce new concepts such as Test-Driven Development. And it's incredibly easy to make mistakes trying to keep up with the speed of the teacher. I know it's not the teacher's fault. I am guessing he didn't have the time to make a quality course like the other Rails course: Build a Simple Ruby on Rails Application. That's an incredible course, but, unfortunately, it's in Rails 3.2.0, and I started running into too many errors trying to revert from 4.2.4 to 3.2.0. With that said, don't forget to leave good reviews on good courses! Teamtreehouse really does listen. They just recently took down a sub par course on Angular and are now replacing it with a new course. Again, sorry for leaving this rant in the questions, but I tried to leave it after taking one of the very few quizzes in this course, but, after writing the huge review, I accidentally clicked away from the quiz review text box, and it disappeared.

I haven't taken any Ruby courses, so I can't comment on your impressions. However, you don't seem to have indicated anywhere in this post which course you're referring to. Remember that when you post as a General Discussion topic, it does not automatically link to anything.

Edit - Looks like you realized already. Disregard.

I would suggest using the button in the video console to slow down the runtime to 50% Apply for a moderator position and report the flaws directly, and submit suggestions.

Applying for a moderator position is a good idea. I've been a part of Teamtreehouse for nine months, now, and I love it (for the most part)! Thanks for the suggestion! Also, if you don't mind me asking, how did you apply for a moderator position?

I don't find this course bad, just that it is outdated. That is neither Teamtreehouse's nor the teacher's fault but I really hope they will update their Rails courses. If he goes too quickly, stop the video and do whatever you have to do to catch up, then hit play again. I find I have to do that a lot since I am resolving issues with a more recent version of Rails and actually am learning a lot in the process.

Yes, it could just be a learning preference, but to me it seems like the majority of viewers are not happy with the content of this course. What I love about Teamtreehouse is the fact that it assumes that anyone taking their courses is just starting out. This course kind of disregards that fact. I posted the comment above because I know Teamtreehouse listens as I was mentioning about the Angular course that too many people complained about. But I am glad there are people that there are learning from this course too! Thanks for responding!

My problem with the quickness, is not the quickness itself, rather that he really doesn't explain what he's doing. He pretty much just speaks what he's typing, then goes immediately onto the next part. Me pausing and rewinding over and over doesn't help in this course, because it's still severely lacking explanation.

I'm still on my trial membership, but if the rest of this site's courses are like this, I surely won't be keeping my membership.

The rest of the courses are awesome! I would highly, highly recommend you continue your membership. Teamtreehouse has given me the momentum to keep learning web development for nine months, now. Please, do not apply the quality of this course to other courses! Andrew Chackley, Randy Hoyt, Nick Pettit, Hamtpon Catlin, and Hapton Palk are all incredible teachers, and the video content is incomparable to YouTube or probably any other web development tutorials out there. Me and a couple others think that this course is one of the few exceptions, but others have different opinions about this course, as you can see above. I hope I'm not too late in telling you this. D: I never knew the bell in the top right corner also included notifications for comment responses. I just thought no one ever commented.
