Dont know what i need to do

I'm clueless, i watched the video on this but can't seem to find what I'm missing.

Hi Seth,

Your first line is successfully selecting the element. What you need to do is put the element's value into the variable inputValue (i.e., instead of putting the selector in your variable, you put the associated value). As the video linked from the challenge (and the notes below the video) point out, you can get the value for the element by adding .value to the selector.

You don't need to add an eventListener for the first part of the challenge.
