iOS Swift 2.0 Enumerations and Optionals Introduction to Enumerations Enums and Objects

Editor not recognizing my enums

The editor is giving me an error saying that .Left is not part of Direction. It's doing this for all of the enums in my switch. I also tried doing Direction.Left and that gave the same error. Is someone able to clarify what I need to fix?

classes.swift
class Point {
    var x: Int
    var y: Int

    init(x: Int, y: Int){
        self.x = x
        self.y = y
    }
}

enum Direction {
    case Left
    case Right
    case Up
    case Down
}

class Robot {
    var location: Point

    init() {
        self.location = Point(x: 0, y: 0)
    }

    func move(direction: Direction) {
        // Enter your code below

        switch move{

       case .Left : location.x -= 1
       case .Right : location.x += 1
       case .Up : location.y += 1
       case .Down : location.y -= 1

        }

    }
}

Hey Michael,

It looks like the issue may be with what you are switching on. You can't switch on the function, but rather you want to switch on the value(s) being passed into the function.

Try changing

switch move {

to

switch direction {
