3,817 PointsEE major but want to develop career in development-help please
I am from EE(Electrical Engineering) major but I always found that my main interest lies in CS side like web development, mobile app development, software engineering/development side. Most of the things which I found in EE is not interesting and not for me.Now I really want to develop my career in development side and before getting or applying for job I am preparing and strengthening myself from the tree house courses.I found it highly interactive, user friendly and easy and innovative to use.I want suggestions from you-Is courses from here is enough to get a development job and start my own it firm or company.I really want to start my own company when I feel I am skilled enough.I specially love UX design,Mobile app development and software development. Is there any problem that I am from EE background and I need to put extra effort?I want to become really skilled in programming side(not just basic level but expert or proficient level).Any suggestion from you beside this amazing course? Thanks in advance.

3,557 PointsI suppose the first question is why not switch to Computer Science? That is certainly a much more relevant major to your interests.

39,199 PointsComing from an EE background, is just like anyone else who doesn't have a background in design or programming it means you will have to be self taught. Did you have any specific questions?

19,442 PointsI'm about to graduate with an Applied Mathematics degree. Everything I know is self taught and I've been in talks with prospective employers already who are very interested in what I've been doing, just the fact that between Team Treehouse, Udacity, Coursera, and CS courses taken at my college, I've been able to learn a lot in a relatively short period of time.
Check out every resource you can and just start building. Make a bio website for yourself that showcases any skills you learn. Tie it into electrical engineering if you can, it'll showcase your diverse skill set.
Good luck!
