Android Sending Projects to GitHub

Enable Version Control Integration doesn't create gitignore file

So...I have an existing android app. I want to push it to github. I don't want to push it with 1200 dependency files. I am aware that a gitignore file is what I need, but what should be in it and how to I create it? When Ben enables version control integration he comments that Android Studio creates a gitignore automatically. That would be great, but when I do the same thing, AS doesn't create a gitignore for me...

So...how can I get one?
