CSS

Error in Challenge? (or is it me?)

In the "Finishing the CSS" challenge, when challenged to:

Select the copyright using an ID selector and give it a solid top border that is 8 pixels thick and has a color of #2A0400.

I place the following code at the bottom of the CSS file:

#copyright{
   border-top: 8px;
   color: #2A0400;
}

and the engine tells me I'm incorrect, and to use an # and the id of the target element.

Please help.

look again at your code:

border-top: 8px; color: #2A0400;

dont worry about anything else just look above and the answer is in there.... i could give you the answer but fixing tiny errors will make you better for it, i spent 2 hours the other night looking for an error in my css code but once i found it i could of laughed

I placed the # sign prior to the copyright id (it doesn't show it in the forum.)

Another hint to go along with it. You haven't yet declared what line style you want your border to be. It does say in the instructions to make a solid border. Also, by separating the color the way you have it, your actually setting the text color to that, not the border color, so you'll need to correct that too.

You're pretty close, two small fixes that I see. But fixing it yourself will help you remember it for next time.

Got it. thanks all of you for your encouragement, and NOT GIVING me the answers. And yes, I will not forget.
