Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 84,738 PointsExistential crisis - how do I become employable?
I've done a lot of the content here on Treehouse and really enjoyed it. I thought I would test the waters of the job market, so I searched the Hackerrank jobs for and found this Front-End position: https://www.hackerrank.com/companies/point72/jobs and did the code challenge. I clobbered me. I submitted only about 9 out of 15 questions after several hours. They were really hard questions.
Where do I go from here to learn the more advanced topics required by companies? How do I sift through all of the different positions offered to find jobs that are right for my skill set?

12,842 PointsI'm personally suspicious of uber-tough online code challenge sites like this one. I also checked their Glassdoor reviews: https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/HackerRank-Reviews-E811012.htm they're not great. I would suggest trying local resources like a workforce center (they're a free community resource) to help you discover local resources for Junior Developer opportunities.

19,201 PointsIf you are just getting started start looking for positions titled "Junior Front-End Developer", your profile says that you are located in the NYC area maybe start hitting up some Meetups in the area. I would recommend checking out the "NY Tech Meetup" and possibly "Design Driven NYC". A lot of startups demo their products at these meetups and are usually looking for developers and designers to join their team.

13,023 PointsGrab the book "Cracking the Code Interview" it is kind of the bible for passing the really difficult technical interviews such as Google, Facebook, and Microsoft. Then practice, interviewing is a whole separate skill from doing the job.
Sites like Hackerrank can be difficult but I have had multiple companies give me screenings using the site. Start with the easy problems and work your way up.
