<!DOCTYPE html>
    <title>Portfolio Page</title>
    <img src="../img%20logo.png" alt="Site logo">
      <li><a href="">Home</a></li>

You only use ../ if you want to step out of your folder to access a file in another folder. Let's say your style.css is in /css/styles.css. If you want to access a file through the style.css you could use ../ to step out of the css folder and go somewhere else like ../img/ if you want to access an image for example.

In your case we are talking about the index.html file and most of the time that file will be in the root folder which means you don't need to use ../ you can either directly use files that are in the same folder or step into another folder like src="/img/picture.jpg"
