extract numeric value from string value in java

A variable named "boxWidth" already exists with a value of "640px". Create a new variable named "numWidth" and use the "parseInt" method to extract the numeric value from boxWidth's string value. var boxWidth="640px"; so my answer is var numWidth = parseInt("640px", 10); is it not correct?

I think you are supposed to use the variable 'boxWidth' instead of the string '640px'.

numWidth = parseInt(boxWidth , 10);

Not sure, but that should work.

Yes it works. thanks

Can someone explain to me why this isn't quoted "boxWidth" and why its 10 and not "640px"? Thanks
