Feedback for my Portfolio Site

He everyone, I finally got my portfolio site up and running and I invite all on the treehouse forums to share their feedback on my site.

Please keep in mind that it is not completely done, I need to throw up some of the personal projects I have been working on, as well as updating the blog section to conform to the site, I really just wanted to get it up there so people can see:

Thanks everyone for you input!

Hey George, it might not be done yet, but getting a site up is an accomplishment just by itself, so nice work. One quick note to consider: when I click on the Blog it takes me to a part of the site that sports a different look. If possible, I'd suggest using the same style you'll be using on your main site to build some consistency. Also, if you have any social networking links to share, or perhaps your Github profile, you can link to them from your site as well so people know where else to find you and see your work.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I put those links on my contact page. From a usability standpoint would they be better served somewhere more visible on the site?

I am a large fan of putting social links in a footer along with copyright info. I am a junior web developer in south Orlando, and the designers I work with usually always deal that way.

Ok, I'll definitely keep that in mind!!! I'll have to throw that in there, btw you have the job I want so I'm jealous in a good way!!

George Offley I'm a big fan of having social buttons on every page if you're going to have them at all. People expect to see those sitewide, just because that's what they are used to seeing. The footer is a good spot, as well as the sidebar, if you have one later.

George Offley This is one more thing you might want to try as well. Establishing a visual typographic hierarchy with color and well as font size. Leave the <h1> and <h2> at #000, but try dialing back your <p> text to a more subtle black, such as color: #333.

What this will do is indicate the outline of the page better. People can scan for the headlines, and know that the text underneath is where more detailed information is. It's a tiny mind hack that I like to use.

That's awesome advice thanks, I'm still learning more and more about color and the different effects on people so that's really good for me to keep on my belt.

I just read a lot, and try everything that I can implement. :)

Nice Job !

Pablo Litardo Thanks dude!

Anytime Dude ;)
