First challenge task of CSS Basics

Question 2 of 4 is asking me to set the color value of the paragraph elements to "lightslategrey" so my code looks like:

body { text-align: center; }; p { color: lightslategrey; };

But when I submit the work it tells me it's wrong and I need to set the color value to lightslategrey. What am I doing wrong here?

style.css
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
body {
  text-align: center;
};
p {
  color: lightslategrey;
};
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Lake Tahoe</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="page.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">

      <h1>Lake Tahoe, California</h1>
    </header>
    <p>

you have ";" after the closing brackets of your css rules

should be:

body {
  text-align: center;
}
p {
  color: lightslategrey;
}

not

body {
  text-align: center;
};
p {
  color: lightslategrey;
};

Hi Brandon,

Here is the code I just managed to pass the task with

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */
body {
  text-align: center;
}

p {
  color: lightslategrey;
}

What error message you get?

edit: I noticed on you code you are putting a semi colon after each curly bracket - you don't need this :)

Thanks Sam
