Font color and background not changing

This is my style.css but nothing changes except the font type:

body {
  font-family: 'Nunito', sans-serif;
  color: #FAF3BC;
  background: #420600 url('img/bg-texture.jpg') repeat;
}

a {
  color: #4FB69F;
  text-decoration: none;
}

I'm sure I linked it correctly:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css" type="text/css" media="screen">
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/grid.css" type="text/css" media="screen">
  <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Nunito' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen">

Could it be a Safari or OSX thing?

Your HTML markup and CSS looks good. Most likely it's a path issue or your page is being cached.

Hi Rachel,

When i put it into code pen it showed a dark red background.

for your background url you might want to try looking at the img path.

You need to move back one level.

Try

background: #420600 url('../img/bg-texture.jpg') repeat;

dot dot / moves you out of the folder your in.

Sorry if it doesn't make sense its very late here, let me know if you need a better explanation. Also you don't need repeat as thats the default anyway.

Hi Rachel, I tried your code, works fine here (firefox, chrome and safari), got the redish dark background, text color white yellow, and link turquoise. I copied/pasted it, so I think the problem could come from another place (markups from your html maybe?). Could you post your entirer code please?

I'm using Sublime Text 2 so I don't know why there would be any markup.

James, sorry for the delay, but you were absolutely right. It was being cached. Thanks so much!
