Treehouse Guest TeacherForum Contest: Build a Blog in Ruby on Rails
After you've watched the video, please read the details below carefully. I'm looking forward to your entries!
How to Enter: Create a simple blogging app in Ruby on Rails. You can use any front-end framework and/or JavaScript you'd like, if any. The only requirement is that you have at least one has_many
association in the application. Create a GitHub repository and paste a link to it in the comments along with a link to the deployed project. Heroku is a great, free way to deploy.
Due Date: All entries must be submitted by July 27th at 11:45pm EST. Here's a timezone chart so you can see what time that is for your locale.
Prize: The entries will be judged by Treehouse teachers based on both design and code. One winner will receive a free month of Treehouse Pro on us! :) We'll announce the winner on July 28th and reveal the next contest.

13,916 PointsGot a storm rolling in so I want to go ahead and post this up in case I lose power. Here's my shot at the blog contest. I've been wanting to do a personal blog for a while now so this was the perfect opportunity to bang something out!

Courses Plus Student 15,701 PointsHere is my attempt at a Blog for the contest. There are loads of additional features i hope to get time for but never did. I would like to work towards getting the comments belonging to the user as well as the posts in the future as this is something I haven't quite mastered yet. By the looks of my blog posts I will have to investigate adding paragraphs to my blogs posts as well as a back to post page on the comments page. It was a great contest though for applying what I have learn so far on the Rails tracks though.

2,909 PointsI know I never made the deadline for this and its super laye, but thought I would share my results anyways. Experimented with autosaving posts via ajax and inviting users and moderators. Cool entries everyone!

Treehouse Guest TeacherHi everyone!
These were great entries all around. You all really made my job difficult week! I'm super impressed! It was really difficult to pick a winner because there were all great entries here. Keep up the great work -- these all make great portfolio additions.
This week's winner is Alexander Batalov! His entry was extremely high quality all around. The design and color changing header, while not required, definitely helped. His code was solid, too.
The next forum contest is about Android animations. Great job everyone!

13,916 PointsThanks Maciej Czuchnowski! I am on the fence on a few. The TinyMCE may go away in favor of a combination of Redcarpet, Highlight, and MarkItUp as I really want code highlighting and it's been an uphill battle so far with TinyMCE.

17,410 PointsThis looks really nice. I was hoping to get an entry in this weekend, but it ended being slower going than I thought. I'm hoping I can build something similar to this - it's just going to take me some time and practice!
