2,435 PointsFrom CSS to Bootstrap and then to CSS
Hi,
I started by using CSS , i was getting very comfortable with it, i could do , layout any webpage i wanted. As soon as i learned how to do that, some poeple recomended me to use Bootstrap .
I can do any layout i want in bootstrap, basicaly its simple really .
But now, when i talk with other people , they said they used Bootstrap first and then switched to write their own CSS. So is it a good idea to do ? having in mind aswell of getting a good CSS skill too ? instead of using all the time a framework where the skill stays in place ?

15,622 PointsBootstrap is amazing. It allows you to put up a good looking website really quick.
On the other hand its also full of stuff that you probably wont need.
It also gives that samey look, the look all bootstrap websites have, they look the same.
So you start to use your own custom look. You might have a small css file with a few rules that you can use in all your websites. And for the rest you just use your creativity.

2,435 PointsHI, thank you for reply.
Yes i know what thats not the point . Bootstrap look the same , thats not an issue since its just a framework so people wont use it as thieir .
What i mean is about the skill. When you use CSS for layout and stuff, you learn more and more CSS right? with bootstrap, the whole layout its all there . Of course to position something somewhere you use your own pure CSS but thats easy . Like theres not much to learn there really . As i see it of padding, margin, % and pixels in a case, align center, verticly and i think thats all. So you know, thats not a lot. It get tricky sometimes depending on the work but what im curious more likely is about pure CSS.
So when i started coding, i used CSS for everything. I could make any website i want to be responsive but not for mobile. I never really used media queries for the layout . And what im curious is that since i left CSS layouts, i believe i learned new skills using bootstrap , and i feel like im not gaining any knowledge now from making websites with bootstrap because everything is soo simple and it jsut like a piece of cake . Its quick but you cant get quick of making a billion dollar or quick stamina workout or anything else. It takes time and hard learning .
So using CSS , now would be a good idea? Or what would you recommend to d ? i know treehouse use foundation ,, but hey, like you said, bootstrap has a lot of files that are never used so they probably took them out .
Im making it a lil confusing : p and again xd from bootstrap to CSS? is it better? because at the end , if your going to apply for a job or somthing, they will want to test your CSS skills right ? if you can do stuff etc.. while using bootstrap all the time, it ca be different in it right? so getting over Bootstrap and goign to pure CSS , and maybe make website for customers with bootstrap for the sake of time can be a god idea : p
I made a mess xd i hope its kind of clear : p what i mean.
