From newbie to job placement

hey guys. I just signed up for teamtreehouse after hearing lots of good things about it. my questions will be pretty generic I'm sure, but still I need to ask...

aaaanyway. I been starting to learn front end web development (HTML, CSS, jQuery) to land a job as a front end web developer. Ive read and heard that with treehouse, u could land a job in about 6 months or so. I am putting in alot of time and effort, as i absolutely despise my current job (not related to web development at all), and front end is totally new to me (about 3-4 weeks in with codecademy, and other video tutorials i downloaded), so basically was just wondering how fast you fellow treehouse-ers got into your web development positions (assuming youre in them), your experiences (with treehouse or otherwise) etc etc, and any other useful information you think might help. thanks alot everyone!!!

From the various stories I've heard, 9 months to a year seems to be a realistic timeframe.

Treehouse is a great foundation. In order to get a job you'll need to build things to show potential employers your skills. In order to build useful things you'll need to do a lot of learning outside of Treehouse.
