Front End Dev - Going From Intermediate To Good?

Hey guys,

for almost 2 years now I've spent all my time learning front-end development and I'm happy with my progress.

I'm around 10 months in to my first job and have learnt quite a lot.

I'd say my level is about intermediate now. I can do most things but obviously still have a lot to learn to consider myself good.

Before I knew exactly what I needed to learn but now I felt I've covered a lot of the bases and I'm struggling to find new ways to teach myself.

When you've covered most of the content on Treehouse for front-end how can I take it to the next level?

What are some other good ways you learn other than video tutorials?

Or what elements of front-end should I focus on to become better?

Advice greatly appreaciated!

Hey Joe,

it is awesome to see what you've already accomplished :-)

Because I'm not in the same situation as you (I still have a lot of treehouse courses to complete, to call myself an intermediate developer) I can only tell you how one of my class mates made it. So what he basically does is that he finds a project he wants to realize (it doesn't matter if he has no idea how he can get this project done) and then he just researches all the information he needs to turn his idea into reality. He spends a ton of time working on his projects but by doing what he loves, he became one of the best coder in our school (with such a wide ranging knowledge).

Seminars might also be a good learning resource.

Maybe this technique will also work for you and I hope that was helpful, Patrick :)
