Hopefully by the end of the year i will be starting to work as a front end web freelancing. Just a general question, what is the A-Z process of work after getting a client for a front end development task? After designing and developing the site do you send the web files back and that it, job done? or is there more to it? Would be great hearing from people with front end freelance experience :P
Thanks :P

Ive heard of people working on projects & the other party drops out before its done & keeps all the work theyve done so far for free. You can require an up-front deposit. Some freelancers charge a specific fee for certain things & you have to pay up-front. For example, creating a ebook cover may cost $5 so the customer would pay that up front.

I think in most cases you will be responsible for helping them to deploy the live version of the site that you helped them build. After that, in terms of maintenance etc, different devs have different processes. Personally I charge hourly for all my services, so if they need some maintenance work the client can pay hourly for that.

Ryan Frizzell- Is that a simple enough thing to do to deploy the site for them? Ive got a long way to go before i start being a successful freelance developer haha. do you just work in front end? thanks mate

14,527 PointsReece Baird The process of deployment will vary depending on the project and the platform/technology/hosting that has been chosen. Generally it should be fairly painless to do. But it's always a good idea to have tested it before and to make sure that you have backups in case something goes wrong.
