Game controls in xCode

I am really inspired by this game and I'm wanting to learn how to get a joystick similar to this one in the bottom left and right corners of the screen for my game to learn how it works and how to import objects into the xCode library, if it's possible. I DON'T want to use this exact joystick for copyright reasons!. I'm just showing an example in the link below and wanting to learn how it works with programming.
