general question, about parentNode and myElement.children

on the MDN website, i checked them both for more info.

my question is: what do they mean with "read-only property"

1 element.children

The read-only children property returns a live HTMLCollection which contains all of the child elements of the element upon which it was called.

2 Node.parentNode

The read-only parentNode property of the Node interface returns the parent of the specified node in the DOM tree.

The term "read-only" means that you can access the value it contains, but you cannot directly change that value.

thx again !
