I have taken the course "how to make a website",but then to move forward I have to take the html course in the tech tree. but I have already know what the is in the HTML course so why do I have to re-sit what I already know?.
soryy about the rant but I just don't understand why I have to re-watch everything I have already been taught? james

I already know css, but I am seeing and learning new techniques. Once that part of the track is done, you will not have to go over it agin on another track, it unlocks it. So, when I start the front-end track for example, I will not have to go over the html, css or programming foundations again. :)

2,534 PointsAnd why you do not take the Libray? is better: the courses are separately and more focus on what you want.
The tracks are for people who wants to understand the full programming languages starting from zero if they do not have any knowledge, if you already have knowledge on HTMl/css, etc, then, why you have to take the track from zero?
Go to Library and take the courses there.

1,928 PointsI get what you guys are saying about going to the library, but I didn't know anything about html/csss,hence I took the course "how to make a website" but then the next 3 courses I can choose are what I learned in the first one.so I just don't understand why we are learning things twice?,i agree with phillip cox that going back over things you may pick up on things you may have missed the first tim,but it just seems abit of a waste wen you take a course and then the next course is the same stuff.thats all. but thank you all for the advice.

14,818 PointsWhat I found was, 'how to build a website' gave a good overview of what the title suggests. Whereas, the html and css courses, go much deeper into the language. But, I can kind of see what you mean. Maybe Treehouse thought their students would feel better having produced a website first to get them motivated. :)
