Getting correct outputs for Word Count Challenge in Pycharm CE (3.6) yet cannot pass challenge

I am figuring out some of the challenges in pycharm and I am getting the correct outputs but I cannot pass the challenge with my code. Any thoughts?

wordcount.py
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.

def word_count(stringy):
    dicty = {}
    new_str = stringy.lower()
    split_string = new_str.split(' ')
    for string in split_string:
        dicty[string] = split_string.count(string)
    return dicty

the error tells you to split on all whitespace, but you are only splitting on the space character. there are other whitespace characters like newline and tab. remove the quotes defining the space character in your argument to split so it's just split().

Awesome! Thanks for your help James!
