Hey everyone, I am following the tutorial on downloading and installing the MAMP software. I have done everything that he did and saved my test.php in the htdocs file, but when I try to open it on the local host, it says the file is not found... What could be the problem?

28,149 PointsBest I can tell you is that Apache (that is bundled inside of MAMP) is config'ed to listen to port 80 by default. This likely can be changed in one of it's config files, but port 80 is default. Obviously the port your using, and the port apache is listening have to match.

For me, MAMP uses port 8888 for Apache, like so: <pre>http://localhost:8888/</pre>
And the MAMP admin interface is here: <pre>http://localhost:8888/MAMP/</pre>
MAMP also uses port 8889 for mySQL.

8,418 Pointsnevermind! I guess the apache port number was wrong.. I rechecked it to make sure it was at 80 and it wasnt. Now that it is it works! Can anyone explain what exactly this is?
