13,564 PointsGood Beginner Projects?
Hi guys!
I was thinking it might be a nice idea for us to set up a thread of beginner projects to give people inspiration? I often see people online asking what projects are good for beginners and etc and I have wondered the same myself at some points so it would be great if we could compile a list.
What are your opinions on this guys?
Thank you all for taking the time to read this and I hope you are having awesome days!
-Luke

13,564 PointsHey Mark!
Thanks for the inspiration! How would I do something like this though in terms of software? I am mainly focusing on software development at the moment and I am looking for a few new projects to work on!

APIs for different web services like Instagram, Flickr, etc. might be good to dig into for beginning projects because the data can be ported through different languages.

13,564 PointsI do a bit of everything. I have done some app development on both Android and iOS and I have also written some very basic desktop applications in Java. I can't figure out which one I really want to focus on so I have just ended up doing a little bit of both.
Thanks for the idea! Any API's easier to integrate into projects than others? This will be my first time working with a website like Twitters or Instagrams API.
Thank you for the advice.

34,574 PointsI honestly couldn't tell you for sure. The only one I'm somewhat familiar with is Flickr only because it was in one of the Javascript courses.

13,564 PointsWhat languages are needed to interact with the different websites API's? Can it be any language or do they only work with specific languages?
-Luke

34,574 PointsThere are some specific languages like Objective-C, Java, etc. Here's a link to Flickr's API page if you want to take a look.
Luke Glazebrook
13,564 PointsThat is great to know. I have worked with Java and etc so i'm glad I can use those languages with the API's out there. Thank you also for the link to Flickr's API.
I really appreciate the help so thank you!

34,574 PointsHey Luke!
Picking something that interests you (snowboarding, hiking, painting, etc.) and create something based on that like blog layouts, one-page sites, or just a logo. If you're interested in the topic that you're designing for it should help keep you interested with what you're working on.
Sorry if this comes across as kind of general but its a good place to start.
