Hi All,

i am getting started with the google app development/using the Developers console... does anyone know a place for online learning for this/step by step instructions/help videos.

i am especially interested in embedding a hangout button on my website to launch video chats via my page also developing an app for my hangout only as a collaborative tool.

Unsurprisingly, Google is your friend: If you search for "Google Hangout button embed", this is the top result.

To embed a Hangout button: https://developers.google.com/+/hangouts/button

What do you mean by 'develop an app for your Hangout'? I don't think Google allows people to embed the Hangout service into other apps. They do offer a premium product under Google Apps for Business, though.

Regarding a tutorial video, here's a good one - about 20 min and easy to follow. The descriptions on the Google developer site are a bit technical and you probably need more experience with front-end and JavaScript dev to make sense of them. This is probably a good topic for a Treehouse course!

Thanks A.J Kandy,

I would like to create an app for use within a hangout similar to the ones available like screen share and the drawing apps available via Google hangouts
