To create 3 equal-width content columns in a 12 column row, we'll need to make each one how many columns wide.

27,930 PointsI think the questions is possibly easier than you think, it is only wanting your to divide the 12 total columns into three even sections.
12 Columns / 3 = 4
So from this we now know that each individual content column needs to be 4 grid columns wide :)

The above is the best I could think of visually with a keyboard but shows the use of splitting the page into three by using 4 grid columns..
