Handing over a website to a non-developer.

Hello all.

I am in the process of building a website for a colleague of mine. It's in the very early stages, so if I start from scratch, no big deal. :)

She is a photographer and I was thinking that she's going to upkeep the site. She knows nothing about coding. All I've ever done is keeping websites up to date for myself.

Would a CMS be the way to go (which I've never worked for, unfortunately)? Or is there something else I should do?

I'm interested in this topic as well. I've handed over sites to a few non developers. In all cases they tried using a CMS with varied results... but they've always come back to me to fix certain page issues.
