Has anyone done the "Techdegree?" Should I just continue the $25 per month price?

I am a new beginner wanting to learn to change careers. Thank you.

I haven't finished the techdegree, but I have finished the majority of the FEWD workload. I would say continue as Basic, do everything in the Front End track, switch to Techdegree and do all the projects, they will take you some time, as will getting through the coursework. There are also some modules not available to Basic I believe.

Hi Javier,

Thanks for considering the Techdegree! A huge advantage of the Techdegree is all of the support once you sign up. I don't necessarily mean a bunch of cheerleaders (though, they are present in the form of your Slack cohort and contact with Treehouse staff/project reviewers/teachers), but rather the guidance of putting together your newfound skills and helping you navigate from novice to developer job ready. Personally, I have studied some tracks with Treehouse but have a hard time applying that knowledge to other projects (like open source) to demonstrate and practice my skills.

However, the your journey through Techdegree is your demonstration of your skills. You put together a professional portfolio to show potential employers your skills. it guides you through a progression based system that begins with novice skills and ends with intermediate/advanced/job ready skills.

If you're already knowledgeable about developer tools, how to find projects, and remain pretty easily motivated on your own, the Basic/Pro subscriptions are an awesome way to go. If you're a little unclear about how to move from present day to being confident enough to find a developer job, the Techdegree helps clarify this route considerably. Thank you for your interest!

Finish a track you want to be good in and then upgrade. That's what I'm doing right now. Let me know if you have more questions :)
