Java

Having done everything Craig did in Multiple Strings I still get 3 errors and I don't know why?

I've tried many times and can't see any difference between my code and his. Mine looks like this.

  import java.io.Console;

public class TreeStory {

    public static void main(String[] args) {
        Console console = System.console();
        /*  Some terms:
            noun - Person, place or thing
            verb - An action
            adjective - A description used to modify or describe a noun
            Enter your amazing code here!
        */
    }

}
String name = console.readLine("Enter your name: ");
String adjective = console.readLine ("Enter an adjective: ");
console.printf("%s is very %s", name, adjective);

and in the console I used what Craig had as well, which was...

clear && javac TreeStory.java && java TreeStory

when I press enter I get these errors... String adjective = console.readLine ("Enter an adjective: ");
^
TreeStory.java:18: error: class, interface, or enum expect ed
console.printf("%s is very %s", name, adjective)
^
3 errors

I saved before pressing enter and still get these errors; and on a side note if anyone could tell me why, when I save using ctrl+S my console stops working and doesn't allow me to type or press enter at all?

Right now your code is outside the the body of the class, which is marked by the outer pair of curly braces. Java expects everything to be defined within a class (or interface or enum, which you'll get to latter) which is why you're getting that error. Your code needs to be inside the inner set of curly braces for the main method.
