Having problems loading the videos and them playing. What can I do? It loads plays for a few seconds then repeats.

The video loads....plays for a few seconds then loads again. It repeats this and makes learning impossible. Is it my computer? Anything I can do?

Do you have any difficulties viewing videos on other websites? (youtube, etc) Perhaps try pausing the video for a minute or so an allowing it to buffer, if you give it a little head-start it may play smoother for you

Hi Danilio, could you preform a speed test, reset your router / modem, and see if that helps? If your internet speed isn't working well for streaming videos at Treehouse, you might try downloading the video itself.

I have no problems with other sites like youtube, I checked the router/modem and everything is fine. I had no problems last month so it doesnt seem to be on my end. My sister bought a brand new computer last week and I tried it on hers and I get the same problem. Tomorrow I will go to the library and try it there, that is where I normally study. Can it be that there are certain times treehouse.com is busier than others and slows down the download? If this keeps up I may have to go elsewhere to learn web design.

I'm sorry you're having so many issues, I've had a couple times where the videos don't load right away for me, but a page refresh and/or log out seems to help! Maybe try the ol' clear cookies/cache and see if you get any performance back, do you see this issue at certain times of the day?

Danilio, it sounds like your internet connection. Can you provide the results from the speed test? That'd give us a better idea of what's going on. I've watched quite a bit of content myself in the last few days—haven't had an issue yet.

Ok there is a new problem, when the video plays through at the end I could always scroll the player back and watch the video again. It is not letting me do that, once it plays through, the video is gone. I hope I did the speed test correctly. But the computer says its running at 100 Mbps. The only other thing I can think of on my end that is going on is that my sister is downloading some torrents. Could that be causing the problem? Any help appreciated, I'm a little freaked out....I really need to study. Thanks again for responding.

Torrents could definitely eat up your bandwidth, and cause your slow video playback! But that's one serious Internet connection if you did the test properly

Even with that speed, unthrottled torrents can cause those issues, even the new one you mentioned.

Another thing you could try is OpenDNS.

Ok I got my sister to stop downloading/seeding but am still having the same issues. Can it be possible there is residual and I need to reset my modem and router? I'll go ahead and try OpenDNS, but I am not sure what I am doing on that. Thanks for the help guys!

It's commonly known that sometimes ISPs throttle connections because of high bandwidth—particularly when it's video-related, and sometimes high amounts of gaming will trigger it. The Treehouse videos are high-definition, so I wonder if maybe that's the case. However, if someone using your internet connection is downloading a lot of torrents, etc., they sometimes start throttling your connection based on that.

There's not much more I can recommend, but I would suggest taking this up with your ISP—having them run some tests, and see what's going on. If everything is checked out well on that end, I'd suggest contacting support to see if they can get this resolved for you.

Ok......I got the openDNS configured. Still having some issues. When the video download I notice the little grey bar that is usually ahead of the green bar is not there. Also when the video fully plays....I cannot go back and replay specific sections of the video like before. I guess I'll contact support about this. I'll also double check with my ISP and I'll bring my computer to the library where I have successfully played videos before. Thanks for your help Dustin and Seth.
