Having trouble figuring out why I am getting errors.

Elizabeth,

It looks like you're doing more work here than the challenge needs you to do. It wants you to create one pair of script tags, i.e. an opening and closing script tag, not two sets.

You have this:

<script src="scripts.js"></script>
<script></script>

You need this:

<script></script>

Beyond that, your alert message looks fine...try replacing your script tags as I suggest above and continuing through the challenge, and you should be good to go!
