Having trouble linking my css with my html

To me it looks like my code is identical to that of Nicks, however, when I refresh my page my css isn't showing up.

so i have this in my html: "<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Nathan Bennett | Designer</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css"> </head> <body>"

And this in my css: "body { background-color: orange; }"

After saving both, my page wont turn to a orange background?

have you linked your CSS with your HTML page?

example: <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css">

add this under your title in index <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css"> make sure the css file your working on is called main .css
