iOS Swift Functions and Optionals Parameters and Tuples Tuples

Having trouble on this...

not sure how to use println here

tuples.swift
func greeting(person: String) -> (greeting: String, language: String) {
    let language = "English"
    let greeting = "Hello \(person)"

    return (greeting, language)
}
var result = greeting("Tom")
var result = println (language)

Hey xiaohu,

println cannot be assigned to result. Instead inside your println use your result variable and then access the language from the tuple by using its index value.

func greeting(person: String) -> (greeting: String, language: String) {
    let language = "English"
    let greeting = "Hello \(person)"

    return (greeting, language)
}

var result = greeting("Tom")
println(result.1)

If you any other questions don't hesitate to ask,

Ozzie

I see, the println is also a function. Thank you very much!

It is just asking you to print the word "English" so do:

println("English")
