iOS Swift 2.0 Basics Swift Operators Working With Operators: Part 2

Having trouble with the Challnege

In the Challenge it asks for: In this game of ours, we have an odd scoring mechanism . At the end of the round, if your score is 10, you lose! If it's anything but 10, you win.

Declare a constant named isWinner and assign the results of a comparison operation to check whether the player has won or not. If the total score is not 10, then the player has won, otherwise he or she has lost. (Hint: Use the NOT operator)

This is what I did but it is not correct and I'm confused:

var initialScore = 8 let totalScore = ++initialScore

let isWinner != let totalScore

Please help!!!

operators2.swift
// Enter your code below

var initialScore = 8
let totalScore = ++initialScore

let isWinner != let totalScore

Hey Wardah Mushtaq,

This challenge wants to do a comparison operation on totalScore to check its value. Anytime the totalScore is equal to 10, we lose. Anytime the totalScore is anything other than 10, we win.

We can use the comparison operation totalScore != 10. The != operator checks if the value on the left is not equal to the value on the right. If they are unequal, the comparison returns a boolean value of true. If the values are equal, the comparison returns a boolean value of false.

This boolean value will be assigned back to the constant isWinner.

// Enter your code below

var initialScore = 8
let totalScore = ++initialScore

let isWinner = totalScore != 10

Good Luck!

Ohh this makes sense now!! Thank you!
